An interactive session on “Innovation & Entrepreneurship” was conducted during the First-Year Student Orientation Programme on 07-07-2026 FN. Dr. V. Kannan, IIC Convener, explained the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in job creation and economic growth. Students were motivated to identify real-world problems and develop innovative solutions using Brainstorming, Mind Mapping, and SCAMPER. The session covered customer discovery, prototyping, testing, and obtaining customer feedback. Successful examples such as the first shampoo sachet, RedBus, and student innovations were discussed. The role of IIC and opportunities through Hackathons, AICTE Productization Fellowship, and Yukti Innovation Challenge were highlighted. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, inspiring students to become future innovators, entrepreneurs, and changemakers.
